My Workouts are Finally Moving!

My Workouts are Finally Moving!

I thought about it really well. Occasionally I would write workouts and simply described them. What I realized then is the fact that it lacks something. You see, some people are more visual. And yes, seeing something is much more convenient. I recently decided to add another feature included in my clients' programs--- I am talking about The Training Video Critique. This allows my clients to see themselves in action and assess their performance with me. Since I am doing this, I felt like sharing it with my readers. The video that I will show can also serve as a guide for all of you who like to change it up all the time. Trust me, I will keep on uploading new ideas. Below is a typical workout that I do. My boxers for these videos are Mark (advanced) and Christina (beginner). I wanted to show all of you the different aspects of our training and why the Train Like a Boxer Program is a premiere boxing training system! Enjoy these unedited videos!

Warm up: Two rounds of shadow boxing will do. This will help loosen the muscles to be ready for more intense mitt work or heavy bag drills.

Heavy Bag: If available, the heavy bag is a great tool to improve skill, power and speed depending on your focus. I usually like doing 4-6 freestyle rounds whenever I workout. I change the focus of the workout for me not to reach a plateau.

Mitt Work: You need a good boxing trainer on this stage. This is the best part of the whole boxing routine. This is when you have to bring your A game. This may look simple but it's pretty challenging.

Interval Conditioning Work: Full body strength and cardio work is what you need. Compound movements is the way to go. Less time, high intensity! Below is one example of a routine that is complete in itself.

Abdominal Work: The last part of a complete boxing training workout is this. Focusing on different exercises, this routine is a "total killer". Core training is very important in boxing. It is one of the most mentioned problem areas of most people.
